Our Holistic shop was officially created in 2016 by co-founders Claudia Goncalves and Mark Halliday as a Fairtrade Social Enterprise trading arm to support the Planetary Healing Centre, a registered charity in Scotland SC034826, and also to support indigenous people in Brazil.

It all began in 2003 when a group of like-minded people had the desire to help others in the community who were struggling with ill health and needing holistic support but could not afford it. The Edinburgh Shamanic Centre and the Planetary Healing Centre were then co-founded by Claudia and Mark that year in Portobello. A corner shop selling craft from the community was always present in the Centre from day one.

In 2010 The Edinburgh Shamanic Centre and The Planetary Healing Centre officially and formally became two independent organisations. The Shamanic Centre physically moved to Balerno with the Planetary Healing Centre staying in Portobello and retaining the charitable status.

Over the years the Planetary Healing Centre delivered many projects supporting the people of Scotland and in 2016 began also to support indigenous people in Brazil with various projects and also buying and selling their crafts.

After Covid 19 in 2020 things changed, we had to adapt and thrive. After the charity and the shop was closed for 9 months due to the lockdown, in order to continue the work and keep our doors open, we needed to become more self-sustainable financially so we decided that the shop was to go online.

At the beginning of 2021, a team of amazing people got together and created this beautiful online shop you are accessing today. A lot of hard work went into it and the end result is this amazing online shop.

In 2022 the Charity and the shop also moved from Portobello to Balerno where all the projects are now delivered in the community woodland and the shop continues online.
